Harrell's Precision. You'll have to bore it .020 over your bore diameter as they come unfinished. It's like $35. They work just like the rest of them, good on an overbore cartridge, not as good on everything else. Loud, like the rest of them, too.
Can some recommend a muzzle break for 308 that possibly isnt 100$+ if that is possible

Will the muzzle breaks that are made for 308 ARs work on this rifle?
If you want a cheap one eBay has a wide selection of knock off ones.
probably just gonna go with PA m4 72 one its like 99$ doesnt seem like theres many options
Ross Schuler brakes. Just got one for my factory threaded Savage. My third Schuler brake and they all are great.
Do you have a link to the ross schuler muzzle brake you got?
Ross will open it up for you. I used a JP double crush washer from nokick.com on mine to index it.

Ross Schuler for a good and inexpensive brake. Muzzle brakes and more isn't working with Ross anymore I don't believe.
Out of all the brakes I've experienced. My Kahntrol solutions clamp-on brake feels best as reducing recoil.
They also make threaded brakes, which you'll also need some crush washers to time the brake.
Otherwise for a threaded brake try and find one that has a timing nut to avoid using washers.
On one of my 243's I'm using a brake that was bored for 338cal bullets and it works no less than one that's bored 0.020" over.
Most important the brakes bore has to be 100% centered and parallel.
Precision Armament M-11 Severe Duty and accu-Washers /mike drop.

Harrell's and they will bore it for you if you ask nice. They work and do not have to be indexed. You will have to have the barrel threaded. I have one on a 308 and one on a 6.5x47L. Work great!!

I will throw out the Surefire ProComp 762. Preforms well and will run under $60.

The muzzle break that came on my Savage .308 isn't marked in any way, but it looks just like this one from Vais. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/22...0-length-steel
Seems to work well and is not too hatefully loud.
I don't want the down blast of that one.
ROSS makes the best by far imho 1208-590-1843

If your lucky enough to live in the BIG woods your lucky enough
They are brakes. Breaks are what you get at work.

Anyone ever tried the ones the Jerry Michulek sells(DPMS)?
I just got an answer to my email and Ross said they were still 35 bucks shipped with one day service, guess I know what I will be getting.
I like my Witt bolt on brake. It works very well. I also have a Little Bastard II. It works very well. The LB II was ~$320 after threading, and shipping. The Witt was ~$100 with shipping. No regrets either way for me. The thread on self timing LB II looks better and can be used on another barrel when the barrel is toast. The Witt might not fit on the next barrel.
