Not sure exactly what you're asking, but I think you're asking if the datum line on the shoulder is the same between a .284 and the 6.5-284. If so, yes, should be the same
Is this a regular .284 Win go and no go gauge to use?

Thanks. Do it also need a .473 bolt face?

Yes. Just make sure you get a ~.473" bolthead for a short or long action which ever your using.
And yes, the gauges are the same for all unaltered 284 based cartridges, 22-284,6-284, 27-284 and etc.

Cool. I'm going after the 116 receiver set from NSS...
"Savage Model 116 Action – Stainless – RH – LA – .473 bolt face with trigger guard, Detachable box magazine, bottom bolt release and accutrigger."
I want to get a B&C M40 stock but their site is saying it is for staggered feed or bling magazine. Does the 116 come with a staggered feed magazine? I'm not familiar with long action savages.
"Bell and Carlson Savage M40 Style, Long Action, Heavy Barrel, Staggerfeed, Blind Magazine"
All of those dimensions and questions can quickly be answered by opening a Reloading manual as well.
The Long actions are the same as the short except for, you guessed it, the length. This question was covered long ago in the FAQ, last page I believe.
Darkker, I'm only asking now if the long action magazine is stagger or center feed so I can look at the correct stocks for the action sold by NSS?
In other words, I want to make sure this stock will work...

It won’t work unless NSS is selling you an older, stagger feed used action. Since the action is sold with the bottom bolt release, it is most definitely a center feed action and will not fit the stock.

Okay. Any suggestions on similar style stocks?

Stockade Stocks fixed me up. BTW, they can convert any bottom bolt release to top release.
