What happens when you take the magazine nut off the end?
Can someone please tell me what I need to do to remove the bolt and barrel from a Stevens Model 77C shotgun for cleaning? Nothing is broken or needs replacing, it's just dirty.
Thanks,
John

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
There is no nut.
what holds the spring in the magazine?
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
A flat plug held by one small screw to the barrel.
I'm not sure of the geneology of the old Savage/Stevens pump shotguns, but it may come apart from the rear like the Model 67. My old Model 30 breaks down similarly as well.

MrFurious, I think you hit the nail on the head. That looks exactly like the gun in question. Thanks for sharing that.
