The synthetic stocks can be ground/filed/sanded really easily. I use a ball rasp that fits in a cordless drill. Don't worry about doing it "Wrong", that doesn't exist. You need to relieve the stock so it doesn't press on the barrel, Not working with 0.0001" tollerance watch work. I know most want things to be pretty, but we are dealing with a $25 plastic factory stock, if you open it larger than needed, you just have more air flow potential.
