Shooting a hot barrel?
Got a buddy who has a 10T in 6.5 Creedmoor.
Accustock with free floated varmint contour barrel.
Shoots good groups.
After ~15 rounds fired the POI drops ~4" at 100 yards.
Groups are still good, but POI has gone low.
Any ideas what's going on?
Shooting a hot barrel?
Banning a gun will not solve what is a mental health crisis inflamed by incendiary rhetoric on social and television media. The first amendment in this case is less precious and more likely the causal factor than the second amendment.
Is there a change in group size--------- or is he shooting an actual "group"?
If the group has shifted I'd suspect an issue with the scope.
If the POI's are all over the place with a continuous shift downward with each shot, still could be scope and mount, (and heat as mentioned before) but could also be stock. I'm not a major fan of the Accustock. I like a stock with a SOLID bedding surface, not just a piece of aluminum that looks like a piece of window channel.
My experience POI shift is the scopeor rings. Hot barrelcan move it a little, not 4"

Getting very warm in here. Can you name the scope/ring/mount manufacturers?
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
I'm curious too. Simmons and Braska made some of the stuff i had trouble with...

Its a stock issue or a mount/ring issue.
Heat would indicate a tight clearance on the stock barrel is closing up and then shifting it.
It could be heat warp on the scope mounting parts (front).
As the POI is still good and that consistent that indicates a fixed issue not a nebulous one. Seems to point to the mounts.
