The 338 Federal is the same as the 308 in mag capacity. 4+1
Hi Guys I'm new nice to meet everyone, so my questions are basically.........
1. what is the magazine capacity for the hog hunter in 338 Federal savage's website says 4+1 but i've read other places that it was 2+1?
2. This question is more of a general question about the model generally speaking and that is, i've heard it comes in 338 Win Mag but again savage's website says it comes in 223 Rem, 308 Win, and 338 Federal, so does it really come in 338 Win Mag in addition to the calibers on the website?

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
Ok Thank you!
Never been offered in .338 WM that I've seen.
Pulling this from the way-back's to update with some accurate information.
The Model 11 Hog Hunter was originally manufactured in two chamberings, 223 Remington and 308 Winchester. The Model 111 Hog Hunter was manufactured in one chambering, 338 Winchester Magnum. I believe it was catalogued for two years and then they switched the big bore offering to 338 Federal.

If I could find a good deal on a HH in 338 WinMag, I'd probably snag it even though that 20" barrel would have a significant bark.
