Evening SMG are you planning to reload or shooting past the 300 yards If you're not reloading 308 ammo's available pretty much anywhere that sells ammo. At 200 and 300 yards there's not to much difference in ballistics. Only 5.53 inches more drop for the 308 at 300 yards. As you can see the amount of drop between the two calibers widens up the farther out your shootings. The data below is from my reloads 308 at just under 2700 ft/s with a 168 grain bullet. The 6.5 is a 140 grain bullet at a bit above 2800 ft/s.
