Yes, you will need an extended base for it to fit, unless your 4200 is the older model 6-24 or 8-32 which is a very long scope.
I have never owned this model and I am buying one in 300Win Mag. Need to know if I have to have an extended base for a 4200 Bushell to fit on my 116 FHSS or can I just use standard two peace base. I had a 116 in 7mmSTW 8 years ago and I had to have an extended base because the action was so long. Thank you for any help. Mike Price :)

Thank you, that is what I was thinking.
What extended base mounts and rings would some of you recommend. I will use low because I am mounting a 4200 3-9x40mm.
Myself I would make it easy and go with the EGW rail then adjust to your hearts content.Rails cost $40=shipping and usually arrive 4-5 days after being shipped.
They are site sponsors so give them a look.

rjtfroggy, thanks for responding. I went to Midway and they and the other makers of rails only have them for short actions and my 116 FHSS has a long action. Do you know where to get the long action and I assume that my 116 has the round contour.Originally Posted by rjtfroggy

Mike if it is an accu trigger it should be round and EGW has la bases in stock.
