with a 6.5X 284 you'll need the long action.... The axis is a funny critter on how they make the change from short to long action cartridges. The only think I would say that the 10/110 action offers is the accutrigger and aftermarket options in comparison to the axis.

The axis is cheaper to start with, and it also has an enclosed port which I like, as it adds some strength to the action itself. If you've got the stock option you want with the axis, it's not a bad platform to build on... IMO

The axis trigger really sucks though, so you'll want to swap out for an aftermarket trigger or go the route of "snipping coils off the trigger spring" to lighten it.... Snipping the coil will void your warranty though... Some guys use the bic retractable pen springs and a screw to hold the new spring in.
