Depends on how far you want to shoot, and what bullet, etc.
Don't think you need it unless shooting well beyond 1K
got the fancy 20 moa rail sitting on top with a Razor 5-20. And we are running out of travel on the scope
still shoot 15` high @ 500 YARDS. Even put my nightforce 12-42 on top just too make sure scope was not bad. And still ran out of travel
Bent barrel ?
Anyone else heard of this problem
All help is appreciated
Johnny

I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
The razor should have enough adjustment to shoot 1000 without the rail , or zero at 100 with the rail...there's a problem somewhere.

I had a similar problem and had to send scope for repair. All fixed now reticle had to be repostioned.
If both scopes are funtioning correctly and the rail isn't installed backward. You could have a bent barrel or receiver.
You have two possible solutions install a 40 moa rail or send it back to savage.

If he had the rail backerd's, he would be low not high.

Make sure the objective bell is not hitting the front of the rail. It doesn't take much contact to cause your issue.
Also make sure the Zero-stop is disengaged.
Check to make sure your rail and rings are seated properly. As in the rail is contacting the reciever (nothing lodged between) and the rings aren't hung up on the rail and properly seated. This would most likely be on the rear ring or base causing the front of scope to point down towards the barrel more. Next look down the barrel. 15 feet maxed out elevation at 500 yards is a lot. You'd Proly see the bend in the barrel at that point lol
thanks for the pointers, will report back

I just pulled my 20 moa off my 110 FCP due to shooting high. Couldn't get low enough @100 yards with my Burris XTR II 4-20. Ordered a 0 MOA rail. After seeing this, makes me wonder. Guess will see when I get the rail in.
