The photos will be a big help, your description is rather generic.
I have searched online and can't find any similar rifles to this one. I'm wondering how old it really is and if any collectors would be interested in it as I do not have a use for it. Any help would be great thanks.
It is a single shot 22 long rifle. The buttstock has a metal plate that says savage quality, and trade mark with the Indian head logo.
I will upload photos soon.

Sounds like it's going to be a model 1904, probably has it stamped on the barrel.
Very small gun, short 18" barrel, curved trigger guard.
Savage- "never say never".

The barrel measures 16" and the overall length of the rifle is about 33".
Certainly looks like a model 1904. Can you read any dates or anything on the barrel?
Never seen one marked "Sport" before.
The trigger guard has been changed I believe it should have a curl to it, the rear sight has me confusted to, looks like the place a factory peep would have been but you have a buckhorn in it. I think it's a 1904 thats been modified somewhat. The bolt handle looks like it's off a model 3.
Can you see a serial number on the side of the chamber where you load the gun?
Savage- "never say never".
Your gun's action is not Savage, the butt plate is, and possibly the stock too, and they may even have used the barrel, but the action is not- compare it to these that have very similar actions -
