The barrel has a shoulder that is 1.22 after the nut? Was this barrel made to be a nuttless barrel?

I got a 243 1-8" twist contoured in Sendero from Xcaliber (through another member here).
The Sendero contour is 1.22 at the shank for 2". The Savage shank is 1.058...
I was trying to headspace it, and there is not enough room to screw the nut forward on the Sendero barrel, basically, I run out of threads and the nut cannot screw in more and action/lug sit against nut, not go-gauge.
Is there anything that can be done? I know I am not the only one that has bought a heavy barrel for Savage on a different contour.
Or should it be turned down to 1.058?
Thanks

I am at work, so can't post picture right now. Will do when I get back home.
There is no shoulder, and I actually did not measure, so I was speculating the 1.220", based on Xcaliber's website reported contour specs. It does appear the same width as the threaded portion, but the nut will not go any further than mentioned. I will pull calipers and confirm measurements, but it appears to need 5 to 6 more thread turns, based on comparison to headspace on the removed barrel, using same lug and go-gauge. Will I need a different nut without threads in the front portion?
I will add that the action screws in all the way, once the nut is removed, so I think it is a problem with the nut/barrel interphase, not the threading on the barrel.
It is one of the old nut, that have the threads all the way to the front lip, so as I type this I am wondering if that may be the cause of the problem on the heavier contour barrel (works just fine all the way into the old barrel though).
You went to the expense of a new barrel, why not get a new nut and recoil lug? NSS has them both, not expensive and very good quality. Problem solved.

I did get a new lug, kept the original nut as I had no clue it would be an issue. It appears to be the culprit and will order a new one.
Look for a factory nut in the classifieds soon LOL
I bought one of the x-caliber barrels Savage Prefit in Heavy Palma 1.220 2.5 1.000 2.5 .900.
It is not 1.220" dia. on the Savage prefit. Mine is 1.058" shank dia. on the thread and the same after the thread till it starts to taper.
The threading is 1.625" long and with a new Barrel nut .875" long with .530" of thread and .345" of sleeve with no thread and recoil lug .240" it leaves .835" of thread length.
My original 30-06 barrel that is still installed threads into my 111 action .665" leaving .170" + or - of thread to work with.
I wonder as mentioned if your old barrel nut is not recessed enough.
How long is the threading on the barrel you got?
Barrel nut length measures .875, inside non-threaded length is .315, non-threaded inside dia. 1.060, thanks bowfishn

Order the new barrel nut and recoil lug that way you will get a machined lug instead of a stamped one, I got a new set from Apachegunworks for my 6.5 build I am doing, not much money.
Oh I see you already did.
Bowfishn: Can you clear up the dimensional questions?
If you have a 1.220 contour barrel, then you should have a large step after the threads.
It lists the contour as a Heavy Palma at 1.220", that had me a little worried, wasn't sure the barrel nut I ordered would work. When it came in it was 1.058" and stays at that Dia. until it tapers down so it's a 1.058 2.5 1 2.5 .900
It sounds like that the normal is larger, they shift to a Savage size when they do a Savage type barrel and don't list it that way.
Updates!
Installed easily with new nut from Apachegunworks. Lug was 0.25" from EABCO. Easy to do, and looks fine. Threaded all the way nut was the problem. Just need to see how it shoots.
