egw base &burris rings
Since as of now i wont be shooting 600 or 1000 yard comp or plinking. But was wondering what the best one piece scope base a guy can get at a affordable price and which rings? Going on a 110 long action.

Farris is very good, but the last one I got was not true picatinny as the slots were slighly narrow.
Still superb. The only rings I had that would not fit were IOR Rings.
TPS bases are very good and expensive, but I returned two for an exchange and never got a base, return call or anything.
They were gone.
I like Burris Extreme rings. Super heavy duty.
where is a good place to get egw bases? And as far as burris rings how are the sig zee rings?

and for sure get the SIG ZEE rings or the Extreme but I perfer the SIG ZEE because of the adj inserts.

Ok so i decided on the egw 0moa one piece base and burris extreme tactical 1inch rings, now i need to decide on ring height i will be mounting a nikon 6x24x50 monarch what height do i need to clear the objective to the barrel ? thought i read somewhere on here because the egw base is taller i could maybe get away with a shorter ring eight. So would mediums work then?

They shoud fit but it might be tight. Medium XTR are 1/2"

well i have high rings on standard weaver bases and actually the scope sits a bit to high so thats why i thought the medium would work wish there was a local shop that had them so i could check it out

Medium XTR rings will fit fine.

I got a 10moa stainless base for my .243 from these guys http://www.murphyprecision.com/
It's pretty nice IMO
If they had it for a long action available

Which do you guys prefer, the regular EGW 1 piece base for the F Class EGW 1 piece base?

Bobcat 30, have you looked at Bench Source mounts. I have 2 Mod. 12's with these mounts and they are excellent. Also the Bench Source people provide excellent technical support.
no i havent yet but will. I already ordered the egw bases tho

The Bench Source bases look quite tall in the photos compared to most picatinny bases. Are they?Originally Posted by hillcharger5
