I shipped mine in original box, UPS driver had no issue with it. Arrived safely and with gunsmith now to rebarrel.
Well I have just finished a session with 10BA Stealth 6.5 creedmoor. With a little under 500 rounds, its a tack driver. First, I had a cheap($49) scope/mount combo just to run some rounds. Did the 5-5 barrel break in. Be sure to check the allens holding the upper to the stock. They get a little loose after a 100 rounds. Torqued to spec (61 in/lbs if I remember) and everything has stayed put. The action was really too tight and loosened up nicely after 100 rounds or so.Still not as smooth as a Christianson, but very good. I run 60 rounds per session and a do thorough cleaning. Also switched to SS 12x42 scope with SSALT mount. Mount was too high. Switched to Leo QRW rings medium height. Perfect. Now I can get a super solid cheek weld. American Eagle 140gr is ok. Hornady IL better. Stay away from the loads with the soft lead tip. Hornady white tail...ok for hunting but not precision. Hornady 120 gr AMAX..bingo! Zero'ed at 112 first. Blistered the target. The little tiny 1 inch red diamond completely punched out. Next 200 and do another zero. Inch to inch and a half spread. Consistent with the ballistics info. The circular red center with black background and yellow shoot&c stick on targets are the easiest for me to see. I can stay in the red circle 8 or 9 times of 10 at 207 with a 2 degree uphill and 10-13 right to left crosswind. I am no expert shooter, but people always love the look of the rifle. I took the trigger down about 2 to 3 tenths so it is right at 1.9 or 2.0. It's a very nice trigger right out of the box. I grew up shooting smaller caliber so its just a preference of mine. So far every time out the wind has been a factor. Oh well. Next stop is 300 yds. The 120 AMAX dope shows a 7.1 inch drop from 200. Thats pretty flat. Muzzle speed is 2910 wth the 120 AMAX. sku 81492. 200 yards is getting boring. I pick different edges of the bulls eye to mix it up. For the money, it shoots very well. Hope this helps! Been 2 weeks since shipped, when I called was with Gun Smith.
Got mine back today finally!! It took just over 4 weeks. Off to the range with the new 24" barrel to get it sighted in this weekend if the weather cooperates!
Was able to swing out to the range tonight, only did 100 yards but shoots great. No handloads yet, shot a box of 120 hornady amax's cause it favored them before and they shot very well again. Hand loads Sunday!!
I wish I could find some around here. Ran across some factory 143eld x the other day but didn't get any. I have some 120 nosler bt's to try out then some 129 accubond long range then ill move up to the 140 amax and then the 143 eld x's. I'll have to give the 130's a try too. I was using H4350 for most loads but these 120 bt's say the most accurate powder tested was IMR 4895 and it so happens I have a bunch of that. Also going to try some varget on some of these too. Before I sent the gun in for a rebarrel I had really good results with the 140bt's and H4350. RL 17 is still unfound around here at the moment but that's on my want list. Will post load results Sunday weather pending. will do 5 shot groups at 100 and out to 500. Hoping to get out to 1200-1300 once they cut down some corn in the fields!!
The local Gander Mountain is advertising the Stealth for $1099.99 in 6.5 CM. Ran down and had a look. Barrel measured 22 inches. They only had one in the store for sale at that price, but it's just the current street price, not really a "sale", but you could order one from the warehouse if wanted.
Sure is small and light!
Gun Broker has 949 or lower, might consider, all will be 22". 24" are being put on the ones sent back and requesting.
I've seen 3-4 now in .308 and 6.5 sell for around 820+25 shipping. Really a lot of gun for the money but makes sense since I've seen the RPR sub 1k and the FCP-SR around 500.

There is a store selling 18005 (Gen 1) RPR for $1149, they have sold many at that price. Gen 2 is still too high for me. The .308 RPR has been hit or miss. Want to try a .308 Stealth if I can even get the $ and a really good deal.
Sold my AR-10, now have lots of 7.62 cartridges and also Hornady 168 bullets. Torn between getting maybe a .308 Stealth, or more likely something like a FCP-SR to use the ammo. Other option is sell the ammo, not sure where you go to do that?
All in all, I like my stealth better than my wife's 18005 RPR. More gun for the money IMO.
How many of you guys are shooting your 10 BA Stealth with a muzzle Brake? If so, which muzzle brake are you using?
Keith
I looked at the FCP-SR option, added it up, more costly with Chassis running 500 + buffer and stock = looking at about 1200 bucks (IMO). I still may get an FCP-SR .308 and then add chassis when I can scrape up the funds.
Installed the APA Little ******* GenII. Very impressed with the performance of the brake but **** it's loud.
PRecision Rifle Blog does some great work, they rated Lil *astard at the top of the pack.
Called Savage today - rifle going to test fire today, then fluting if required, then finishing, final test fire, then they will ship. Rep said probably another week.
So 4 weeks turn around if they complete it next week.
Don't know it that is good turn around or not. They literally had to make the barrel. Hope it was worth the wait. Feel like an expectant father.
You'll be pleased !
BTW Lapua just announced that they will start making Creedmoor 6.5 brass
