What Happened?
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
Aww....come on, tell us how you really feel Tex.

Win 10 isn't at all user friendly, especially for a old idiot like me.
With Win 7, I had folders all over my desktop. A folder for links to my creditors (water, energy, mortgage, etc), another for my pics with sub folders for hunt pics, grandson pics, etc.
I could get anywhere I wanted quickly and easily. Create folder, copy and paste to desktop....simple. Even had a folder for my links, like to this site.
Now, although I have yahoo set as a homepage, I can't figure out how to get there, much less have the PC go there automatically.
And a website I need for work isn't "supported" by Win 10, so now I have to do everything at the office. What B.S.
Did I mention I hate Win 10 ????

I was going to upgrade but after reading several tech sites I decided that was not a good idea.
there is no problem putting folders or shortcuts on the windows 10 desktop screen.

drag and drop, copy and paste, save as "to desktop" create shortcut etc. create new folder, any way you could before you still can.

Are you on "Tablet Mode" if so switch to desktop mode...
- Go to settings and click on System.
- Click on Tablet mode on the right pane and turn off the tablet mode.

this page has a tiny download for a patch that makes the windows 10 upgrade a manual update by the user as compared to a forced install.
Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience
I got windows 10 while I was sleeping and then a few days later trouble came my way and had to reload it without realizing it got rid of all my dell factory programs. I am not happy to say the least.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
Few months back I tried the free upgrade of Win 10 on my old computer, and it was a complete & total disaster.... nothing ran right, so I reverted back to 7. I finally broke down and got me a new ASUS with 10, and after having used it for almost two weeks, it's really not bad at all....
like any software upgrade if you don't have the horsepower to run it it's going to be a problem...
