Common index cards at the office supply work great, and at $1.19 per 100 you can't beat the price! If they're to wide for your boxes just trim them down.

I've also used blank business cards from the sheets you get to print your own. Just break the sheets down and hand write on them - much less hassle than trying to get them to print right. They're a little more expensive, but if you want/need a smaller size they fit the bill. They're great for 50rd pistol boxes.
