I purchased the 7mm-08 model (22224) Axis II XP a few months ago. After a handful of trips to the range, I'm thoroughly impressed.

The rifle seems to like Hornady American Whitetail #8057 139 gr Interlock bullets. I also tried Federal Premium Vital Shock140gr Noslers, Remington 140gr Core-lokt, and Federal Fusion 120gr Spitzer boat tails.

After bore sighting and a few minor scope adjustments, The Hornady American Whitetail shoots overlapping holes at 100yds. The bolt is smooth, and the safety is easy to actuate.

I'm using a Vortex Crossfire II 50mm x 4-16 scope. I haven't adjusted the trigger yet. It feels like 3-3.5lbs, but I haven't confirmed that with my Lyman trigger pull gauge yet. Feels good, so why bother?

I purchased the rifle for whitetails and 'yotes in Nebraska. Where I hunt, most of the deer shots are 300-400yds. I will probably use it for pronghorn antelope in Colorado, if I can draw a rifle tag next year.
