I use rings that are 10mm from the top of the rail to the bottom of the scope tube. I might be able to get a bit lower but probably not much lower.
Hi Guys,
I just picked up an Axis heavy barrel in .223 to use as a bench gun. I decided on an SWFA ss as a scope and EGW base.
What height rings do you SWFA users use?
Thanks

Holy Crap!!
I used lows with a full bull and 20 moa base.
Thanks Guys. This is my first bolt action rifle. I understand getting rings with enought height so the scope clears the barrel. I'm concerned about bolt handle clearance.
there doesnt seem to be a way to know for sure. That's why i went to the source.
Thanks
I have an AXIS 308 HB with fixed 10 SWFA SS. I have low rings and still have to use a higher check pad. I also have a custom tactical bolt handle with no clearance issues.
I used 10mm mid height on my 10x Swfa as well. I have a beartooth comb raising kit on the butt. Nice looking handle btw.

wow Bruce ,,,, that is as slick as snot,,,,,,,,lol,,,,,,,,,really cool
doodege What kind of stock is that your runnning on your axis hb. I was trying to ask doodedge particularly about his rifle setup. Sorry still trying to figure out how some things on the forum work. As far as the rings go I have a swfa on a model 10 and axis hb. Lows will work and meds also one thing to consider is if you plan on using a scope level (the style that actually fits on the scope) you don't have very much room at all if you use low rings. I actually had to dremel off a little to get mine to fit with the scope level. Just something to consider.
