Mine is 2.878" I been thinking of removing the front strap it is about .030 to .040 thou to make it longer.
but too expensive to play with. I am going to get one of the new magpul mags for like $30 to play with see if I can have longer COL
yes for the new build...so you can load out to 2.90?
thanks ars1.
well with a .022 difference between 2 mags i guess im going to have to get my mags and measure them before i have the freebore set...i might have to buy a alpha 2 and see how they feed.
I would think it should feed fine but don't know for sure. You'd want to keep a bit shorter just in case a tip on one bullet is longer. Like the smk tips do
I am running alpha II mags and I can run 2.96 with no feed problems.
You can get 2.95" with the Alpha Type II's. 2.86" is about as long as I go in stand mags. Otherwise you can machine a slot in the front reinforcement plate. That's what some of the local guys have done. As well as the guys up in NorCal who still favor the 260.
Are the alpha mags feeding with no issues? I've seen a bunch of negative posts about them.
Mine feed great.
Mine do feed with some issues. I wouldn't put my life on one, but for competition and for fun, they work fine for me.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
and the difference must be the controlled feed as opposed to the push feed maybe? I think I'll run the AICS mags as I see no complaints with them plus I'm not going to run a break and also going to keep the pressures down so case capacity isn't really an issue.
LW clear your PMs your full lol.
Ok, you keep blowing it up with all your questions lol
No your just popular.
i like the SAP too looks a little better/easier for a first timer.
I think the bungee is the biggest advantage. Without it, the sling has to be the perfect length otherwise it's needs constant adjustment.
Gotcha...either way I'm going to have to learn to use it and you make a good point...the bungee is probably more forgiving
