Ejection may be a problem, anything shorter than 223 brass does not eject well, due to brass not being long enough to ride ID of receiver. Most likely case will flip around & not eject.
Does any one know if a sako extractor can be installed on a savage bolt head? Or if any one sells an after market one.
I want to turn my savage model 12 w / blind magazine into a magazine feed system. My rifle is chambered in .17 fireball, I'm just thinking of options should I have fedding / ejection issue
Maybe it's a dumb question but thought I'd ask

There is no way to mount a Sako extractor in a Savage bolt head.

Thank you gents..I am very curious to why it just can't be corrected.. Supposedly remington had to relocate the ejector and know it works..is there any one who may make a custom bolt head for the fireball cartridge that will correct the issue..
You just have to know and accept the limitations of the Savage 110 design. This is one of them.
