Ouch! I would send it back unless Savage is on-board with using a local smith to fix it.
This is the first time I have tried to post pic so bare with me.I just purchased this rifle last week, loaded a dummy round and was cycling the bolt and was rough as a cob,and this is what I found. The lug rails for the bolt looks like corn rows.So I took it back and I am waiting on a decision to see what they are going to do about it.The local gun shop may try to smooth it out or send it back to savage http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/...psniwh6ihg.png

Call Savage and tell them the issue. They will most likely send you a shipping label so you can send it back at no cost. They will make it right with you. Reputation is EVERYTHING in the gun business.
I will wait and see what the gunsmith says and I will go from there. Thanks for the replies guys
The gun shop said it did not look that bad to them, but it does to me.So they are sending it back to savage. It could be 4 to 6 weeks.thanks Jeff
