So did you get the laminate stock?
Hey All,
I'm looking at stocks, and I am debating if i want to buy a Choate stock (With aluminum block) or go with this:

This is, apparently, off of a 112 and considered a competition stock.
Any thoughts, or preferences?
Any other suggestions (Long range shooting) on stocks?

can't speak for the laminate stock as i have never had one but the Choate i can as i have 3 of them. the Choates are heavy, not something to be carried long distance, they have that aluminum bedding block that runs the entire length of the stock and there is no need to bed it and they will accept bull barrells easily. i do most shooting from my bench and these stocks are really great for that(imo).

Holy Crap!!
2nd for Choate. I've got the ultimate sniper stock and as DevilDog mentioned, it's heavy as heck but it takes my 6.5 X 55 swede recoil to a point where it's less than a .308 savage 10T that I own. Also, the integrated monopod on the butt is excellent. Well worth the $200.
I've got the UV stock and have had it for since 2009. It's a fantastic stock for the money for all the reasons that have already been listed. I wouldn't want to carry this rifle over hill and dale though.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
