I have one in 6xc that will hammer them right in there with 107gr sierras
Can anyone enlighten me on the actual results people have gotten from this technology? I'm just curious. the whole concept makes perfect sense to me.

I have heard rumor that the gain twist is something that Mike Rock was doing in his barrels for years without it being widely known. I know that my Rock barrels shoot very good.
Lets think about this... Bullet moves into slow twist and jacket is engraved with that twist. Bullet moves into progressively tighter twist and jacket is smeared and torn to new twist. Am I missing something?
Merry Christmas
That's about the gist of it as I visualize it also. But I'm wondering if obturation doesn't "iron" the jacket back into a mirror of the bore.
I work with a man who claims he won a state championship using a gain twist.
Could be I suppose. The Italians tried it in that finely fitted, wonderfully accurate 6.5 Carcano (tongue in cheek). That being said it seems to work pretty well with a patched round ball. Many of the finer period Kentucky rifles had gain twist. Not saying it cant work, as some top shooters and barrel makers think it does. I just wonder if those super trigger pullers wouldnt have won anyway with a standard twist. Some shooters seem to just find a way to win. It just kind of seems a solution to a nonexistent problem. Who knows, maybe my brain works funny. Its happened before.
This has come and gone for over 100yrs but never takes a firm foothold
Theories are great but I stick to conventional rifling till they grab a strong foothold.
Still waiting 40yrs+ and counting
I've heard or the extreme long range like cheytac use the gain to remove the rifling from the bullet. idea is to get it spinning just right, then gain it fast enough to effectively cut off the grooves leaving you with a nice smooth ELR projectile. I think its a cool idea especially if it works. I mean, at 3500yds, you need every adavantage you can get.
