wheres the pic?
After 1100 rds on the 243 win it was time to do some load dev and make an adjustment to my charge.
I shot the top row straight 3 shot groups at 100.
Bottom row was shot round robin 1 shot from each charge weight at a time.
I'm think 42.3grs is where I need to be at as 42.1 and 42.5 also perform well, but with a flyer in each groups.
What do you guys think?

42.3 is it...try adjusting seating .005 both ways and shoot it again or just shoot 3-5 rounds at 300yds and see how it looks...it may be on its last leg too.
Those two groups with the 42.3 measured just about .400 center to center, so not to shabby for a last leg lol.
Remember these are 6mm holes!
yep and at 1100 your coming up on the last leg quick...i want to build a 6mm but the barrel would be shot out before i was done tweaking the load LOL!!
Ya good thing I have a matching barrel on the shelf ready to go!
Lookin' good, Sarge.
What weight bullet is that & what powder you using?
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!
105 amax.
Ya, I won't pull it unless I decided to go shoot a big match. Can't have a barrel go south in the middle of the big show! Last one I pulled at 1400. I'm going to push this one a bit.
Let me know...if I do a 6mm I'm pretty set on a 243AI...if you can get 1500 through that barrel I think an AI might get 900-1000 before needing to be set back.
well played wolf..........after 1k worth of pills tossed out the barrel?...things are bound to change.
42.3 it is.
you gonna play with seating depths as well?
Life is tuff.....its even tuffer when your stupid

that's what im currently shooting................but wouldnt ya know it........DanSavage posted excellent results with his 6mmbr and expensive 105 barts bullets!
my model 10 FCP with HS stock and 5R 11.25 is tired. It just gives me an excuse to add to my addiction.....................ya dun did it again Dan!

One more note, this brass is on its 4th firing. I still don't have an annealing setup, so I would imagine that it would make a difference as well!
Good point. What are the average speeds from a 6mm br with 105,s
I believe the 2800 Area. 3000-3150 is what makes them advantageous over the 6.5's.

Yeah, I've toyed and toyed with the idea of a 6mm, but just can't stomach the barrel life yet. I've looked hard at the 6 SLR.
I can easily get 3350 with the 105 and H4350, but I'm pushing them at 3150 for the increased accuracy. An added benefit is longer barrel life and increased brass life. How much more life? Who knows, but it's gotta be worth something...
I haven't tried loading any 105s in the 243AI to see what it's capable of velocity wise. I'm too happy with its .25" groups with 75gr Sierras to mess with it.
