I have a Witt Machine Co brake on my shilen barrel in .308 and it's fantastic. It's a clamp on brake, but I have to tell you, I never regretted purchasing it. I too have had shoulder surgery and presently have 6 anchors holding everything together, yet I can fire this rifle all day as the recoil is as light as a .223. I'm shooting 168g SMK's at 2880 f/sec, and it feels like a 5.56. You can't go wrong with a clamp on in my opinion.

I too have had shoulder damage. Motorcycle accident, six broken ribs from top down, broken shoulder blade and broken collar bone that has a metal plate on it.
This Yankee Hill Machine brake I put on my build with an MDT Chasis shoots light as my AR15s even using hot loaded 168gr Hornady Amax rds ... kicks like a baby.
All I can say is I was very pleasantly surprised, and I liked it's looks which was a plus.

PRETTY PIECE PETRE... How do you like the MDT?
Gentlemen, thanx for all the responses, VAS SHOOTER, that testing report was amazing...
Happy to help
It's excellent. Very rigid. accurate. AICS Mags slip in perfectly and close positively with bolt closed.
If I have any complaint it's just one. Wish the cheek rest was lightly padded.
Otherwise, it's an excellent chasis. They claim a 20+% increase in accuracy and I believe it. Can't confirm though because my stock came off as soon as I got the rifle home.
I've good things about the Fat Bastrd. Quatromax wins this test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hiju-bzvf34
