Looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been accumulating parts for a while now and finally got something assembled. The VLP stock came from Carvera quite a few years ago. The donor rifle came from txbdyguard last year. Got the bottom metal from clintsrv early this year. Bought the 270 WSM varmint barrel off ebay a couple months ago. Can't remember where the SSS bolt handle and Sav2 trigger came from...
Took the barrel and stock to Pitchford Custom Gunworks in Waller, Texas. Bobby had a Briley muzzle break put on the barrel and a Kick Eez pad put on the stock. Coolest looking muzzle break I've seen.
Got a Vortex PST 4-16x50, EGW base and Burris Signature Zee rings that'll go on soon. The weather is particularly nasty today, no need to hurry.

Thanks bean.
The seller of the barrel told me that he bought it new off Numrich and never mounted it. It didn't have the roll stamping and he seemed to know a bit about Savages. When I picked it up from PCG yesterday, Bobby pulled out the bore scope. A couple spots have very faint chatter, but it looked very smooth for a factory barrel. Should be a shooter.
He also offered a low cost colonoscopy, but I prefer to be fully sedated when that happens.

How much length did the brake add? I have a 280 Ackley with a 26" heavy barrel that I wouldn't mind putting a brake on.
Ok thanks.
That is a great build and the brake really is a classy touch.
Thanks sixone,
Looking over all my builds, this one will probably be the most eye appealing.
