Put it in a plastic bag first. Use a small punch or screw driver to push the ejector plate over until it slides over the spring with ball bearing on top. The plastic bag is to catch the spring and steel ball which otherwise will shoot across the room and be lost forever. I clean out the crud buildup with a blast of brake cleaner. Some have gone to a slightly bigger steel ball which I believe SSS now carries in stock. Search archives for more information on this "ejector" issue which seems to be a common complaint on the forum.
