Hey all,
I have recently mounted my model 11 HH in a Boyd's thumbhole. My problem is the bolt throw is much smoother with the action out of the stock. It's really just the last 1/2 of locking the bolt handle down. Feels like there is resistance in working the bolt from here.
To here.
And the exact same is true when opening the bolt. I thought it was rubbing the stock a little on the muzzle end of the bolt so I took a little wood out of the notch with my dremmel. Still the same. Please help!
P.S. As soon as I loosen my action screws 1 turn it's smooth as butter, but torqued to 40in/lbs per the manual almost impossible to work the bolt.

Holy Crap!!
Seems to be the problem Bruce, you guys are great. Now what? Try and modify the front action screw or are there shorter aftermarket options.
if you have a file and a vise or a bench grinder you are in luck.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
Thanks for your replies, put that action screw in my bench vise, gave it a little haircut and she's right as rain. Thanks again.
