sounds like you need to install pillars & bed
Playing with action screw torque on my 110 - 308 and managed to shoot a wallet group. 50 in lb on the front and 40 on the rear but I noticed that the bolt was sticky. When I tried to go to 45 on the rear the bolt locked up. The screw went all the way thru the receiver and interfered with the bolt. No problem, says I, just file a little bit off the screw and all is well - except my group. It jumped up to 1 moa. What am I to learn from this experience?????

yep. Your screws are compressing the stock material and the ends are touching the bolt.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
And you learned that action screws are not intended to be at 50" pounds in anything but a pillar beded or aluminum stock.
And your wallet group was a fluke.....
