None. What is going to be the difference between a 308 bolt face and a 270 bolt face or should it work. Any info would be great
I started a project that is a 22-243 win and it was made from a 270. I ordered the new head ( LA 308) but i was comparing a 25/06 case to the 243 case and the diameter is correct. I went ahead and put a case in the tube and it grip and extracted it with no problem. What is going to be the differece between a 308 bolt face and a 270 bolt face or should it work. Any info would be great

Same bolt head.
That is what I was afraid of..... I cant believe I never even thought of it.. Anyway another question I bought a new batch of 243 nosler custom and of Norma 243.. Neither of these fit in the chamber with out beating and pushing. I have a Shilen barrel. And the head space gauge goes in perfect. But that little area by the rim that the dies cant reach seem to be a little big.. Do i need to turn them some how.. How do I get them to fit
thanks

Use a full length die.
The cases may also need to be trimmed to length after necking down to 22-243 from the regular 243.
I used a redding FL Die and the length looks good according to the micrometer. It looks the the neck is a little to thick or large in diameter. I dont really want to turn the necks but I can get them to go in, they are really tight around the neck. I put a little lith lube on and the only place the lube was missing around the neck.. Any idea's
thanks

Yeah, make a chamber cast and measure the neck portion of the chamber. Not one of my better casting jobs, but you get the idea.Originally Posted by nuclabuyer
Another way, with the barrel off use a expandable small hole gage and a mic to get the measurement.
The chamber cast is the easiest especially with a Savage barrel, you can pull it and don't have to work around the action.
Either way you'll know what that chamber measures.
