I would guess that this rifle is likely one of the very first 110's made in 1958. Lowest S/N I have in my collected records for 110's is 14199 which dated to 1960. I would venture to guess that Savage started the SN's on the 110's at 10001 when they began production.
If you pull the barreled action out of the stock there should be a stamp on the underside of the barrel near the nut that's a circle with a letter and number in it. This is the date stamp and the letter will indicate the year of production. An "I" would indicate 1957, and "J" would indicate 1958.
