No, actually it was a hair's breath away from being the '6.5-08 A-Square', the 308 Win simply necked to .264 the same as when it was a wildcat. It was also called the 263 Express.
The Creedmoor is essentially the old wildcat 6.5-250 Improved but with a 30 shoulder instead of the more common 40, the forth cartridge in this lineup ....
That example is from the mid '80s time frame. Number 2 is the 6-250 Imp 40, aka; 6 Creedmoor today. It was also made in 20,30 and 35 degree versions.
