That's my Amsoil .223 again with the McGowen barrel,, who say's Centerpoint scopes are junk? It was difficult to actually see the bull's eye let alone the x ring. Mildot retical and 16x is doable but not easy.

Nice shooting!!!
Nice shooting. I do 1000 with a 16X. Granted my scores are 570 'ish but it is off a bipod on ma bella.
Thanks Folks,, I shoot a lot prone too, but nobody in the southern N.Y. Northern P.A. area seems to show up to these match's. There was a Money Police Sniper Precision match in Towanda P.A. I've won one last year and last Saturday. All match's within a 100 mile radius from here shoot 300 yards max. I shoot 1000 yards one in a while at my uncle's farm but He won't let anyone else shoot with me I haven't shot a .223 over 300 yards yet, but the .308 178 Hornady's are what I use for long range.

CenterPoint is what a friend uses on his 223. I was impressed actually but I'd hesitate to put one on a 308 even. Then again where else ya gonna get a 4-16 scope for under $100? Then go win a match besides? Must be the shooter we all know the scope is...
Congrats on that score Dan thats some fantastic shooting!
Very good Dan. How far are you from Driftwood PA?
Just razzin ya a little. Wasn't criticizing.
Well, I probably have been pretty fortunate in getting a well made scope for a Centerpoint,, LOL. I now there not all made as good as the original one that I have with the exposed turrets and no caps over them,, another member here sent me one of his Centerpoint 4-16 with exposed turrets and no caps and I compared them side by side and noticed some minor differences. The one he sent me has a tight spot when turning the windage turret, not a big deal,, I have that one mounted on my Marlin 25N .22. My buddy has the newer version with caps on the turrets on a .308 and he's had good luck with it for hunting.

Well i was really hoping you could show me how to range without a rangfinder.
I think it might be called (virtual ranging) Im told you can do almost anything virtualy now days lol.
As for shooting i could take you over to Ridgeway to shoot. Seems ive heard they run a match occaisionaly.
But their range only goes up to 1000yds. To be perfectly honest i check and calibrate my old rangfinder on those targets.
I can shoot further from the yard, but now im not so sure that its further till i get help figuring that out.
Maybe you could pm me.
Pretty sure it was your front rest that got you all those points!!

Dan i did go to the site you reccommended. I read what it was about and turned it off.
Frankly, feel free to say or think anything you wish.
Again, its nothing but a reality tv show. if someones bag is visualizing themselves
shooting by watching this stuff then who am i to argue about it.
But lets get one thing straight.
This is how most of the opinions originate these days pertaining to this.
Those that can do, and those that cant watch this stuff and become authorities.
