Not that easy.
A slot has to be cut/machined into the underside of the action for the ejector.
The ejector is held in by the trigger pin.
Hard to explain.
I'm new to the forum, and a new target action owner, and this intrigues me, although my question goes the other way. I plan on changing my standard diameter bolt face to a short magnum bolt face, and I see the bolt face available at Midway. My question is what other parts do I need? Top-feed bolt
Bolt head

Extractor Detent ball

Do I need the top loading ejector, ejector retaining pin, and ejector spring for the new bolt head? Anything else?
Sorry if my questions are sophomoric, but I'm new to the world of Savage, and I want to build a handgun on a non-designated target action in a WSM caliber. Or with the target action, single shot, would I be better using a long action push-feed magnum bolt face for the WSM? Don't mean to hijack, but this seems like an appropriate thread given that I'm asking the converse of the OP. Thanks.

So would it work to get a push-feed magnum bolt head for a 110?
Maybe I misread your question, but its not economically feasible to change to a control feed on a normal action unless maybe you have a machine shop to cut the slot.
As for swapping a push feed .473 bolt head to a push feed magnum head, then yes you can change to that. You do have to change the firing pin or firing pin assembly to a magnum firing pin on the short action rifles for some reason, but I cant remember why.
Probably need to ask SSS or someone other than me to be sure.
You need to use the longer firing pin because the lugs on the short action WSM bolt heads are longer than they are on a .473 bolt head.
The firing pin part numbers are:
Old style with adjustable protrusion - (firing pin, sh, hvy mag - 108695 $10.00) use s/n H743889 to order.
New style non-adjustable axis style - (firing pin, short hvy mag - 105758 $5.00) use s/n H840175 to order.
Bolt head, RH, Short Hvy Mag push feed - 106190 $29.00

I didn't even realize Savage made a short action, magnum bolt head. It makes sense that they do, but all I could find was the long action version (#103960) and the controlled feed versions OP had encountered.
I have just done this myself... I turned my savage LRP model 12 into a 7mm SAUM. The bolthead i used was NOT the one you mentioned (its the wrong one) , but :
PTG Bolt Head Savage 10, 110 Series Magnum Bolt Face Right Hand
(the dimensions of the lugs and shank are the same as the original sa bolthead)

My gunsmith reused the extractor and ejector etc from the existing bolt, although he did mention that the ejector spring needed to be shortened a little because the recess it sits in was a bit shallower than on the original bolt head....
