I like to neck down 7-08 to 260 and have not seen any in stock for about 2 years now. Had to switch to necking up 243. Not sure how the 243 would fair going all the way up to 7mm though.
I have three 7mm-08 firearms. An Axis, a TC Venture and a Rem XP-100. The XP ain't fun anymore.....
I was looking for 150 or so 7-08 cases. I have searched about everyplace, Everyone seems to be out of stock, except for Brownells. I'd really like to find once fired brass with the same headstamp.
I do have a bunch of 308 brass I've converted, but the neck thickness is a little more than I care for. I could neck turn them, but that's not a lot of fun either, ha ha.
Case NECK dia of a loaded 7-08 (headstamped) ctg runs .308" where a necked down 308 Win ctg measures .312". The brass had to go somewhere.......
I guess I could take a sample of both types and shoot them side-by-side...... These are not target rifles, but they do shoot great. Anyone have experience with the above ctg types?
Any idea why the brass is so scarce (except it's not a military ctg) ?
thanks,
ron

If you want premium brass, Grafs has the all new 7-08 lapua brass at 109.95 per hundred. Its a lot of money but they should last and last.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
Bullets also have 7-08 brass

Each morning eat a live green toad, it will be the worst thing you'll have face all day.
Neck down .308 brass, trim to length and neck turn.......yep it's work
I'm making mine out of good surplus 308,,,and 260 as well.

I also use 308 brass, just give it a 2 or 3 strokes on the sizing and they are good to go after that. I have shot them side by side with my 7mm08 brass with the only difference they go from .25 moa to .50 moa with the 308 brass.

Same here.
Using annealed, good condition .308 brass for the 7mm-08.
If anyone gets a line on any don't be stingy. Pass on the info. Maybe we can all go in on a group buy for a few million new cases.
And not the Nosler, Norma or Lapua stuff either. I don't want to have to take out a mortgage to buy some...
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!
got a few 1000 once fired 7MM08 brass I could let go, got two 5 gallon buckets full , there out of a AR10

Thanks for the suggestions guys. However, every one is out of stock, except for the high zoot stuff. I 'donated' all of my 308 brass to my friend (and boss) since I just took delivery of his new 'loaded' M1A yesterday.
OMG, another (awesome) machine! I don't want to spend that kind of $, like he did for the Barrett M107A1, but, I'll be able to shoot it whenever I want. I doubt if he will EVER shoot it... sigh...
I'll just wait for the 7-08 brass to show up. I have a couple of hundred now.......

Another option -
Buy 4 or 5 boxes of factory, shoot 'em up and reuse the brass.
I did that when I was looking for 25.06 brass. Picked up 6 boxes of Prvi with a 90gr HPBT and recycled the brass.
The Prvi ammo didn't shoot too bad, either.

I think that Sportsman's Whse. in Columbia, S.C. had 2 or 3 bags about a week ago. I shoot 7-08 and so far haven't had problems finding brass, I haven't needed to buy any for awhile but I still watch the stuff that I use. You might check with them if you have one near you. The one in Columbia is on "Bush River Rd.". Hope it helps, Paul

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.
Actually I bought it over on another forum where it was also listed, and completed the transaction over here, the reason I bought it is because a guy on they other forum made a really low ball offer, actually $24.00 is the number so I bought it out of spite.
