I'm going to try this... My new 10 FCP-SR's 10-rnd magazine still doesn't feed reliably.
How difficult is it to remove the floorplate/bottom half of the mag?
Hey guys
This is what I did to fix my feed issues I was having on my new 10FCP-SR
Understand if you mod your mag, you do so at your own risk !
1. added a little bit of spring tension by bending the leaf spring
in the center, using a small flat pliers, and being careful not to break the weld.
2. the top of the guide is at a bad angle and lowers the ass end of the round
just before it clears the mag, allowing the bolt to jump over the round.
All my rounds now chamber from first to last.

They have 2 tabs on each side, and one in the rear.
Just squeeze the sides with your hand and pull up from the front,
to re assemble place the rear part in the tab first, then lower the sides while squeezing
That solved one of the 3 problems I have with the magazine thanks for sharing your trick it worked perfectly. Do you know of any fixes for not being able to get the 10th round to stay in the magazine? if so I can live with the last problem (not being able to order extra magazines from savage)
Yep my 10th round sits high and if you even think about moving it fast the round will pop out of the mag. Almost like the lips on the mag are not strong enough to hold it in. When you just have 9 in it works fine after I did the spring trick.
I called savage about the 10th round issue I'm having and CS told me they are shipping one out and I should have it by Friday. Got to love good customer service.
I know this is an old thread but I just bought the same rifle and have the same problem.
I don't really care about 9 vs 10 rounds in the magazine, but feeding reliability is a must!
I will bend the spring to increase tension, but I'm not clear on what modification if any was done to the feed lips to change the angle.
I ordered a new spring and follower in case I break the spring.
It seems this is a common problem with this magazine, if anyone can shed some more light on this I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any help!
