I usually install a small screw thru the rear of the mag box to hold it in place.
Guys I bought a new Boyds stock for a blind mag centerfeed rifle. What is the best way to hold the box in place with out it being permanent? If I don't find a good way...I will simply glue it in place permanently but I was hoping to avoid that

Here's the factory part you need to retain the blind magazine in the Boyds stock https://store.savagearms.com/mag-retaining-clip.html
You should have that clip with your old factory stock ? :-)
That magazine just pops in and out. For me it was the easiest part of fitting my stock.

Cut off the rear fingers that are resting on the pillar. I used a dremel to trim out the bedding in front of the pillar for the clip to sit in also.
I used a round file to reshape mine and recessed it slightly below the pillar with a Dremmel. Zero interference.
This may be a little late, but when I bedded my factory stock, I cut my mag clip with a Dremel cutter just after the 90 degree bend. I then secured the clip to the magazine with tape as a temp fix and popped the mag back in place, I was able to install and remove it multiple times with out any issues. And had nothing in the way of the bedding area. I was going to epoxy the clip to the mag if it ever moved, but no issues do far. I'm going to be bedding a boyds stock in a few weeks and I'll share how I done this. Just have to order a new clip.
