Had a little time on my hands at work lately. I got to looking at carbon fiber. I was wondering if any of you guys have made your own stock out of carbon fiber? If you did, I'm just looking to see how you went about doing it. I have only found one thread on a different forum of a guy that did, at least only one that gave a good description of how he did it. He sent me some pictures and it looks pretty good. I will probably follow the way he did it if I can't come up with a better way.

I've never seen it done, but it's always interested me. I did a layup of epoxy and fiberglass to reinforce my Axis stock, but making one from whole cloth strikes me as beyond my capacity.
There.was a posting here of a tube style once. Very cool look but I think the poster removed the photos? I always wondered if it would come to market.

I found that link yesterday while I was doing a little more research. He did his out of fiberglass. But fiberglass and carbon fiber are basically done the same way. Its definitely not going to be a quick project.
Please keep us posted on your progress, this sounds very interesting.
I started yesterday making molds of the mag well and trigger well. I have to admit this is going to be for a Remington instead of a savage. I could bring myself to destroy a savage stock when I just got my Boyds installed. So I don't need another savage stock right now.
Anyway. Here's what I've got done so far.
