The American Classic aint called classic for nuttin. If you so choose you can find long action synthetic stocks for $40 online if you are afraid to scratch that nice walnut. Not many hunters get to own a Classic walnut stainless.

270 is a dang nice round too. One of the best big bore calibers as far as recoil, range and stopping power.
I have a blued 270 walnut 110 that is my fav of my three Savages. It isn't the Classic version like yours but it is still nice.
