6.5 cm use the same bolthead as 308 family of cartridges (.473)
I would guess that the Creedmore even works fine in the 308 magazine whitout modifications
I'm going to begin acquiring the parts to do a 6.5 Creedmoor build very soon. Actually, I already bought the dies and case length gage. Was getting dies for a .357, so I ordered the Creedmoors too. I have a bit of confusion in my mind concerning bolts. Let's say I find a good deal on a used .308 or .243 or 7 .08 - will that bolt work for the Creedmoor or do I have to buy another bolt? I know the aforementioned calibers are all .308 cases. I'm just confused about how a different size case would work with that bolt face. Can someone lay that out for me, please?

The parent case is .308 win as stated above. It is short action calling for an OAL of 2.8xx''. Good to go.
Yes, same head size. you are good to go.
Thanks fellers. That sho nuff makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I'm shootin' 5 shot groups with Berger 130 VLD's and Re 22 in my 6.5x284 consistently under 1/2 MOA. Man, I hope that Creedmoor likes the 130's. Gonna try 'em with some Re 17. Would love to be able to spit the same pill.
