No problems at all. I have a lot of short action cartridges built on long actions. Even the 22-250 feeds fine.
I am considering a rebarrel to a 260 but use it in a 110 used for long action cartridges( eg 270, 30-06) my question is what problems in feeding from a stagger feed mag? Would I have to install a block or a short mag? Thanks in advance

I have a 260rem. on a Stevens 200 LA other than the barrel and normal head spacing absolutely no problem. Feeds 140gr. SMK'S flawlessly.
Go for it, you won't regret it.

I have all long actions, don't have to worry about OAL. Never had any trouble feeding, I try to load with the base against the back of the mag box. 6.5x47, 308, 260, 7-08, 22-250
Yep +1
Any problems you are likely to encounter are centered around Savages QC.
I shoot a 22-250 and 6.5 Creedmoor, both built on Long actions(30-06 originally).
Barrel change and away I went.
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
Same for me; 260 CBI on a 110 action and antelope have come to tremble in this rifle's presence :)
I have two long actions barreled with 7mm08, no problems at all. Actually I think it is better than using a short action. When reloading you have no problems with proper COAL like you may have with a short action blind mag.

The only issue I can see is to make sure you have the appropriate bolt face right?
Yes sir
I also have a .260 in a l/a stagger feed. No problems at all. using 30-06 mag, too. and yes, make sure the carts are loaded into the mag with base all the way back in the mag.

ALso, the FAQ section has a list of most all the cartridges showing what the bolt heads are. Very helpful.
So, anyone have a takeoff .308 barrel to sell or swap?
I bought one for a Savage 110 in .308 Win on Ebay or Amazon, I can't remember which. Under $100 for a takeoff barrel, and it shoots 5-6" group at 300 yards (20 shots). YMMV. If you want one more accurate, go to the Shilen website and get a prefit blued 22" sporter lightweight barrel, small shank, of course.
