You would need a barrel and stock. In the end, the fastest and probably least expensive route is to sell the Walking Varminter and then buy a heavy barreled version like the 25T.
I have a Mod 25 Walking Varminter in .204 Ruger. I would like to rebarrel it with a heavy barrel, keeping it in this caliber. Has anyone done this? Is it even possible? And if it is possible, I assume that I would have to put it on another stock to accommodate the heavier contoured barrel.
Am I barking up the wrong tree, or is it doable?
Thanks for any help/suggestions.
Jim

Thanks, Salvo. That's what I was afraid of. Actually, my gun shoots pretty well the way it is. I'd just like to have a little more heft to it. What about other ways to add weight? hat about filling the cavities in the stock with some type of ballast?
While we're on this topic, how is the barrel on the WV attached? Is it pinned?
Older models are in with two pins, newer ones have a barrel nut. My 25T has the pins.
Ballast in the stock cavities ought to work just fine to give it a bit more heft.
