They will not sell the on/off brake directly to you.
Anyone have a part number for the savage site and know if they even sell these? I would like to install a break on a rifle and like the idea of being able to turn it on or off.

Wow thanks for the clarification I obviously didn't know what I was talking about because I spelled it wrong.
I have no personal experience but here's another option for your consideration >>> http://www.brockmansrifles.com/mbrake.asp.
Also, D.F Maisey from NZ makes the Varimax QC (http://www.gunsmith.co.nz/muzzlebrakes.html) ...
Good luck!

So far every on and off muzzle brake I have seen has bean of a radial port design. Every radial port muzzle brake I fired was terrible....... terrible and possibly non-existent recoil reduction, terrible sound signature from every direction and beyond terrible from the prone position (dust).
For all these reasons and a couple others.....I have to suggest getting a good baffle brake and a game-ear (hearing protection for the field) or...............not geting a brake at all.
Brake,Break, recoil reducing watchamacallit SP?.
Hate the looks of the ported brakes and never had a problem with the radial ones. This will be shot from a bench 99% of the time anyways so dust is not a concern of mine.
