I will call DnR and ask tomorrow.
There has been talk that Michigan is going to pass a bill allowing rifles with straight walled pistol cartridges to be used for deer hunting in southern lower peninsula.
After doing some on-line searches it appears to me that bill was expected to pass last year but did not. Perhaps it is still being considered, but I have not seen any evidence of that. If anyone knows more about it, I would be more than interested to hear more.
Thank you.

newbie from gr, mi.
They passed the same thing(more or less) in Ohio this year too.
Good find. That makes it look like it's foundering in committee in the state senate for the best part of a year. Their session won't begin in earnest until September, and I would think that it would take a while to get through and longer still until the governor signs it.
That is so cool--that means, I guess, that a cowboy-action lever gun carbine could be used? I just got one and I can't begin to describe how much fun it is.
