I think the action needs Machining to run the DBM,
I'm going to look into this tonight. I have a nice SS flat back SF action needing a stock.
I happen to have a Classic 114 DBM woodstock with bottom metal, that would look great,
that I'm thinking about trying to fit.
Any one tried this before?

The LA SF action will fit. Not sure if the DBM will feed properly from a DBM as Lone Wolf noted.
Looks like the section of the receiver that's holds box mag on SF is what needs to be removed. There are other differences also that are hard to judge whether they would pose a threat to reliable feeding.
Looking closer I actually think a Hinged FloorPlate bottom metal would allow the box mag (SF) to stay attached to receiver and use the floor plate to hold follower, similar to 700's, and get the spring needed for feeding. The CF mag would just not be installed.
I have 2 SA HFP bottoms, anyone know if Savage produced HFP in Long Actions?
I kinda answered that question a few seconds after posting it here by checking Savages website. I see the 116 Alaskan line of rifles used the HFP. I guess my question should have been, does anyone have the p/n or a s/n so I can order from Savage?
