This pattern is on both sides of the chamber. It took me a while to draw it out the size and style I wanted. I am doing everything by hand for now. If there is a market for custom savage rifles I will have this pattern die cut on vinyl and have a stencil made up for blasting into stocks, actions, and barrels. I am leaning toward a coating process as well, such as cerakote, duracote etc and painting the pattern and then clear coating.

Cool looking stuff.
I wish I had the equipment to do stuff like that.
And the talent.
And the patience.
Looks good. Is there a end product where you call it done or is this experimentation?
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!
It will be done soon. I have some tracks, elk and wolf foot prints, that I am considering adding to the muzzle end. I will leave this rifle set up as Matte Stainless steel to match up nicely with the black synthic accustock.
Last couple of steps are as follows:
-finish barrel art work
-coate with clear
-build cheek riser into butt of stock.
The last piece will be a little involved. I need to cut into the stock and install pillars with sleeves to make an adjustable cheek riser for proper eye to scope alignment. This is imperative on a long range rifle for comfort and repeatable accuracy. For now I use a cheek riser like the one in this picture. That was my first one. Next gen is better, but this latest one will be much better and professional looking.

The art looks good.
Just my experiences but I have never been able to get a clear coat to work well on stainless or aluminum over time. It always gets chipped or scratched and winds up looking less desirable than natural and these areas just don't match anymore. The clear coats just doesn't hold up like the natural finish with a little oil on it and I always have wound up having to strip em back down.
Good luck.

Looking good.
Seems to shoot pretty good, too.
Nice work you do there. Something to be proud of.
Maybe you can do one for me. I want to give my brother in law a barrel for his rifle. I'll need you to stencil "Load other end" on it for him.
Enjoy in good health.

Ha ha, poor guy.
I need to get out and confirm how this load will do at 1000 or so. At 500 drop data shows it to be dead on a 3050fps. That is what I hoping for. I have 3 loads that seem to work ok so far, with 1 being the best as pictured above. I have a load that shot 3/8ths and 1 at 5/8th. It seems this rifle will be easy to tune and that makes me very happy.
Looks really slick all together. Nice job
