They are much sleeker than most other 55gr bullets. They have a secant ogive like the vld design. I run these in my 22-250 and they shoot beautifully and at 3700fps provide better ballistics than the 69gr match king out to 500 yards.
Why is thier BC so high? Is it realistic? Anyone tried them before?
Published BC is .290 almost as high as a 69 gr smk

Thanks Stomp! i picked up a box today to try out in my 22-250ai. Im pretty excited to try them out, that would be a wind bucking lazerbeam for coyotes.
Are they very sensitive to seating depth that you have been able to see?
In my experience yes they were. They did take a little to tune but not bad.
Ok great, thanks for the advice! I've got some 4064, H4895, and varget. any suggestion?
I'd love to get my hands on some varget, but I ran out a couple months ago. Reloder 15 interests me as well bit kinda scares me since it can be 100 degrees here in pdod season and -20 in coyote season here
The 53 gr V Max works well in my axis 22-250.I'm using IMR4064 ,I left the oal to 2.350" as I want them to feed through the magazine.
If I remember correctly my load is 37gr of IMR 4064 with that bullet right at 3728 fps from my 24" barrel.
A 22-250AI has over 48gr capacity and if you went to H4350 or RL17 and filled up the case a bit more you would 4000 FPS with no pressure signs.

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.
Guys struggling a bit with my 22 250 and 53 gr. Vmax. Got a 24" CBI 1-9" barrel, Timney set at 1 3/4 lbs, B&C tactical stock. Tried Varget, H4895 and CFE223. Seated bullet at 5, 10 and 20 off for each powder / load but can't seem to close the groups any further than an 1" at 100.
Thoughts?
What speed are you sending them at, and if you don't know how much of each powder are you using, My suspicions are with that 9 twist you are over stabilizing them.

CFE 37.5 to 39.5, Varget 34 to 36.5. H4895 was bad so must have pitched that data when I cleaned up.
Might have to try the old standard H380. Imr 4064 is worth a look as well. Varget has never worked for me but 4064 has provided excellent results.
Going back through my old files on the 22 250 I did notice that shooting off the bags seemed better than the Caldwell rest I used this last trip to the range. I wonder?
Just like I thought you are sending them over 3800+ fps, so with that 9 twist you are spinning them well over 300 thousand rpm way to high, so with the 3 powders that you have try 32gr and see what you get, you need to be around 3400 fps, it also could be that your barrel just doesn't like those bullets, you might need try to heavier ones.

PS: I have never known anyone get good groups of of one of those contraptions.

Thanks. I've got some 64gr's I will load up to see what they do. If I go back to the bag and what I already have loaded closes up look for the Caldwell rests for sale.

Has anyone compared the nosler 55 gr BT to the 53 vmax? Ive been shooting the noslers but the bc advantage of the 53 vmax has me tempted to switch.
Ok he just said a caldwell rest which leaves the door wide open.
Definitely wonder about the overspin. I had ordered a 1:9 22-250 but changed my mind and have the 1:12 now.
With that 12 twist, if you wanted to go heavier, you can still shoot those 69gr Sierra's, due to they unique with there very short bearing surface, same thing goes for the 77gr 38gr-to-40gr of IMR 4350 or RL17 for both bullets, and you are rockin and rollin, that will put you around 3400 to 3600 FPS and that is enough to stabilize them.

Good to know. Is that both match kings?
Ever shoot a deer with one? Id like to work up a 22-250 deer load. Debating about which bullet. 50# gr tsx 60 partition or possibly something else.
Yes the Match kings the 69gr are no problem to get up to speed, the 77gr you will have to run them on the hot side, nothing to serious that makes for a pretty versatile rig.

The 65gr game king is an excellent performer on deer. I would imagine the match king would work excellent as well.
