Mike can build anything, he should patent that rig!
I believe that's the first one he built for an 1899 and not a 99 correct?
I told Lightfoot if he built it I would buy it:

Savage- "never say never".
Yep - Prototype for an 1899 & it fits perfect.

How does it attach to the front? I know that is the location of the rear iron sight, but how does it attach? Thanks.
They slide into the dovetailed groove on barrel..You would slide it on to the barrel before you bolted it to the tang....
Dovetail groove? What year did that start? I don't think I have that.
That sight taps out side ways, and leaves about a 1/2 inch ,or 3/8 groove in the barrel. The groove has a reversed bevel and that why it can only be tapped in side ways

Well I'll be... well that is pretty ingenious.
Got any contact info for Mr Lightfoot? I would like to commission one.
I've got Mike's email address, I'll p.m. it over to you, I talk to him daily.

That's a new Weaver K4 with Burris signature standard rings (.270"). There's only about 2 card stock's worth of clearance between the mount and the bell, so folks might want to go with a medium ring. Or a smaller bell - The K4 is 45.5mm. It shoots fine though - the .303 doesn't recoil enough to be an issue.
Hmmm, that's weird, nothing in my sent box either.
Just email me: Got it Joel.

Is Mike still making these mounts. I am dying for a no drill mount. Please email me.
THAT is SLICK! Mine is drilled, but if not, I would love one of those. great job by the maker.
He made me one for my 1899 takedown. Mine is made 1911 and had slightly different distance to front sight. Sent measurement and he whipped one up. Fits great, looks great, solid as rock.
If you don't mind my asking, what is he asking for these? Good to know if (and when!) I pick up another 99 that isn't drilled. Thanx
$160
It's a quality mount...got one for my 99EG (1950). Thanks Lightfoot!
