Not sure what you're looking to pay for the vortex, but this is still one of the best deals out there on quality glass.

New to the forum. I have been lurking for awhile and recently snagged a 10FCP-SR. I have done a lot of research but interested in opinions on a decent scope. I plan on 300yds to 600yds average but would like to reach out to 1000yds if needed. Vortex Viper PST 6-24X50 has my attention but wondering if I can get comparable with less money. Also came across the SWFA SS 10x42. Good reviews for less money. I don't live on a range but like to shoot and hunt, mainly Texas whitetail. Planning on a few Colorado hunts in the near future.
Thanks.

As I was hoping to stay under $500, the Vortex is pushing me higher.

Pay once. Cry once.
Then enjoy the decision. Cause you will at some point want to stretch yer legs. And that glass (the Viper) will make it easier to see what yer doin.

I really like the Sightron for similar money.
