They come from Savage between bolt body & baffle. But a lot of shooters put them between baffle & bolt head, so that grease on the bolt head lugs does not get wiped off, some claim this helps accuracy.
I purchased a model 10XP package in .308 that has the spring washer between the baffle and bolt head.
All the assembly and disassembly video"s I've seen have the spring washer between the baffle and bolt body.
I've put about 500 rounds with the bolt setup this way and was going to disassemble to clean and noticed the difference.
Are there any exceptions to this or do I have a misassembled bolt?
